Eligibility Criteria – Qualification, Age & NCC Requirements

Before filling the form for Indian Army NCC Special Entry SSC 125 2026, verify every eligibility condition carefully. All criteria must be met as on the application date.

Nationality

Candidates must be Indian citizens, Nepalese subjects (Gorkha — no eligibility certificate needed), or persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or specified East African/Vietnam countries with intent to settle permanently in India (with GoI eligibility certificate).

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2027)

Candidates must be between 19 and 25 years — born not earlier than 02 January 2002 and not later than 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive). Date of birth as per Matriculation/Secondary School certificate is final — no changes are allowed after application submission.

Educational Qualification

Minimum requirement is a Bachelor's Degree (any stream) from a recognised university. Final year students may also apply, provided they complete graduation before course commencement. For final year applicants, aggregate % scored in the first two/three years of the degree course will be used for shortlisting. However, note that the degree is a qualification to apply — not necessarily to get shortlisted for SSB.

⚠️ Critical Note for Final Year Students Candidates whose final year/final semester exam is scheduled after 01 April 2027 are NOT eligible to apply for this course. Additionally, final year students must submit proof of passing graduation + all marksheets to the Directorate General of Recruiting by 01 April 2027, failing which candidature is cancelled.
NCC Requirements (General Category)
  • Must hold a valid NCC 'C' Certificate with minimum 'B' Grade
  • Must have served minimum 2/3 years (as applicable) in NCC Senior Division/Wing
  • Provisional NCC 'C' Certificate holders must obtain the final 'C' Certificate before appearing for SSB — Provisional NCC 'C' Certificate is NOT accepted at SSB
  • Candidates not holding NCC 'C' Certificate or Provisional NCC 'C' Certificate on the date of application are NOT eligible
Additional Condition

Candidates must be unmarried. A candidate who marries after the date of application — even if successful at SSB/Medical — will not be inducted. If a candidate marries during training, they will be withdrawn and required to refund all training expenses.

How Shortlisting Works – Bonus Marks Calculation

SSB shortlisting for Indian Army NCC Special Entry SSC 125 is not random. It is based on a merit of maximum 100 bonus marks calculated from two parameters — NCC 'C' Certificate grade and graduation percentage. Here is the exact scoring system:

NCC 'C' Certificate Grade (Max 50 Marks)

A Grade in NCC 'C' Cert50 Marks
B Grade in NCC 'C' Cert25 Marks

Graduation % Performance (Max 50 Marks)

Up to 60%Nil
60.00 – 64.99%05 Marks
65.00 – 69.99%10 Marks
70.00 – 74.99%20 Marks
75.00 – 79.99%30 Marks
80.00 – 84.99%40 Marks
85.00 – 100%50 Marks
📊 Bonus Marks Examples Example 1: Candidate with 78% in Graduation + 'B' Grade in NCC 'C' → 30 + 25 = 55 Bonus Marks
Example 2: Candidate with 72% in Graduation + 'A' Grade in NCC 'C' → 20 + 50 = 70 Bonus Marks

Selection Process – From Application to Joining Letter

The selection process for Indian Army NCC Special Entry SSC 125 2026 follows a defined sequence:

  • Step 1 – Shortlisting: Based on bonus marks (NCC grade + graduation %) — tentatively first week of September 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email; no notification for non-shortlisted
  • Step 2 – SSB Centre & Date Selection: Shortlisted candidates log in and choose their SSB centre and date (first come, first served basis — 14-day window in September 2026). Choice once made cannot be changed
  • Step 3 – SSB Interview: 5-day SSB in November/December 2026 at Selection Centres in Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (Punjab). Two-stage process — Stage I failure means return on Day 1
  • Step 4 – Medical Examination: Candidates recommended after SSB Stage II undergo medical test. SSB medical validity is 270 days from SMB date to PCTA joining
  • Step 5 – Merit List & Joining Letter: Final merit based on SSB marks alone. In case of tie — older candidate ranks higher; if age is also equal — higher graduation % wins. Joining letters issued to medically fit candidates within vacancy count
🔑 Important SSB Rule Candidates can appear for ONLY ONE SSB — either as a CDSE candidate (SSC NT Men-125) OR as NCC Special Entry-125 candidate. You CANNOT appear for both. Undertaking for this must be given in the online application declaration.
