🤖 National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) & 'BharatGen'
- Mission Scale: NM-ICPS (approved outlay of ₹3,660 crore) established 25 Technology Innovation Hubs (TIHs) and 4 Technology Translation Research Parks (TTRPs) at IIT Kanpur (Cybersecurity), IISc Bengaluru (Robotics/AI), IIT Dhanbad (Mining), and IIT Indore (Digital Health).
- Talent & Start-ups: 5,824 CHANAKYA Fellowships awarded, 1,136 start-ups incubated, generating 24,000+ jobs.
- BharatGen Sovereign AI: Led by IIT Bombay, featuring the Param-2 foundation model (17 billion parameters) supporting all 22 Scheduled languages, Shrutam (STT), Sooktam (TTS), and Patram (DocBodh).
- Cutting-Edge CPS Tech: CharakDT (Digital Twin of human body at IIT Indore), TiHAN (Autonomous navigation testbed at IIT Hyderabad), and iRASTE (Driver road safety system at IISc).
- Cyber-Physical System (CPS): Engineered system that integrates computation, networking, and physical processes through feedback loops where physical processes affect computations and vice versa.
- Digital Twin Concept: A real-time virtual simulation model of a physical asset, process, or human organ updated from sensor data.
Param-2 has 17 billion parameters and supports text, speech, and vision across all 22 Eighth Schedule Indian languages.
NM-ICPS was approved in 2018 under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) to create 25 Technology Innovation Hubs across premier institutes.
